ALI, MUHAMMAD-EARNIE SHAVERS PRESS KIT (1977)

On September 29, 1977 at New York's Madison Square Garden, Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali defended his title against tough challenger Earnie Shavers. Ali won a close 15 round decision. Ali was wobbled in the 2nd and 14th rounds, but had enough to survive. The fight was a huge financial success. The Garden was sold out and NBC which televised it live had incredible ratings, a tribute to Ali's drawing power. Presented here is a press kit from this bout.
This press kit is 8 1/2" x 11" and pictures both fighters on the outside and inside covers. There are small creases on the pages inside and along the edges of the cover. No rips or tears.
