James J. Jeffries was born on April 15, 1875 in Carroll, Ohio. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 9, 1899 from Bob Fitzsimmons. He retired after losing to Jack Johnson on July 4, 1910, his only loss, with a final record of 18-1-2 with 15 KO's. Presented here is an antique mounted photo of Jeffriews in training for the Johnson fight in 1910.
This photo measures 7 1/4 inches by 9 1/4 inches.The photo is mounted on heavy board that measures 8 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches.The photo shows just very minor wear from age,no creases.The mounting has glue residue on the edges.The image is clean.
