O'CONNOR, JOE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PHOTO (KETCHEL'S MANAGER)

Joe O'Connor was an early 20th century boxing manager who at one point managed the great middleweight champion Stanley Ketchel. He was Stanley Ketchel's manager after Ketchel first moved from Montana to California. He worked with Ketchel from circa 1906-1908 after which Willis Britt took Ketchel over. This is an original, first generation photograph of O'Connor in period dress around the time he managed Stanley Ketchel. Bold, clear image. Clipped upper left corner. Small closed tear on right edge with no paper loss. Small hole at top center away from the image. Mild surface wear. 3 3/4" x 5 1/2."
