SINGER, AL ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (SPARRING WITH SAMMY CHEROFF)

Al Singer was born on September 6, 1909 in New York City, New York. He defeated Sammy Mandell on July 17, 1930 to win the World Lightweight Title. He retired after defeating Al Dunbar on November 26, 1935 with a final record of 61-9-2 with 25 KO's. Presented here is an antique wire photo of Singer in training with Sammy Chernoff.
