James J. Braddock, The Cinderella Man, was born on February 11, 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. He defeated Max Baer at Long Island City, NY on June 13, 1935 to win the World Heavyweight Title. He was an extreme underdog and earned his nickname with the win. He lost the title to Joe Louis in 1937. His last fight was on January 21, 1938, a win over Tommy Farr. His final record was 46-24-4 and included fights with Art Lasky, John Henry Lewis, Maxie Rosenbloom, Pet Latzo and Tommy Loughran.
