SADDY, FRED SIGNED TELEGRAM (1953)

Fred J. Saddy was a Wisconsin heavyweight who fought and was knocked out by future heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey in 1918. Saddy went on to become commissioner of boxing in Wisconsin. Offered here is a 1953 Telegram in which Saddy is invited to the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions which he answered acknowledging he would come and needed ten tickets for the event.
This is a Western Union telegram dated February 7, 1953. Boldly signed and answered in green ink by Fred Saddy. Center crease in both directions. Clean. No tears. 5 3/4" x 8." Rare signature.
