Alexis Arguello was born on April 19, 1952 in Managua, Nicaragua. He won the WBA Featherweight Title on November 23, 1974 in a bout with Ruben Olivares. On January 28, 1978 he won the WBC Super Featherweight Title from Alfredo Escalera. He retired after a February 9, 1986 bout with Bill Costello with a final record of 80-6 with 65 KO's. Alexis Arguello passed away suddenly on July 1, 2009. Offered here is a boxing glove signed by Alexis Arguello which he dated 6/5/92 and added the inscription "Champ." Signed at the International Boxing Hall Of Fame in Canastota, New York during their induction weekend.
This is an original, red leather, left hand, regulation size boxing glove with a gold Everlast label at the wrist. Boldly signed across the backhand in black sharpie, "Alexis A 6/5/92 Champ." The glove has no noticeable flaws. 13 1/2" long.
