HISTORY: Pete Sarmiento was born in Floridablanca, Pampanga, Philippines. He fought as a bantamweight from 1919 until 1931. Although never a world champion Sarmiento fought many of the greats of the era. He posted wins over Benny Bass, Charlie "Phil" Rosenberg and Joe Lynch. He fought draws with Joe Ryder, Joey Sangor and Abe Goldstein. His losses included Tony Canzoneri, Chick Suggs, Eddie Shea and Bud Taylor. He retired with a record of 43-23-14.
