HISTORY: On November 13, 1954 at Chicago Stadium world welterweight champion Kid Gavilan fought Johnny Bratton with his title on the line. Gavilamn prevailed winning a unanimous 15 round decision. Bratton suffered a severe whipping and reportedly would have been justified in giving up the fight after twelve rounds.
