HISTORY: "Professor" William McClellan (born 1848) was a capable fighter, schooled in boxing fundamentals; He could be very cagey and clever at times and was a hard, straight hitter; He was exceptionally well-developed about the arms, back, loins and legs and was said to have very strong hands He defeated such men as Mike Donovan, Jimmy Murray and John Cash and had fights with John Dwyer, Billy Madden and Billy Edwards.
Jim Murray (born 1858) was a scrappy competitor and a good hitter with a beautiful right hand; He was quite muscular; Jimmy was a boxing instructor in Philadelphia early in his career During his career, he defeated such men as Robert "Cocky" Turnbull, Bob Farrell and Tom Tully
