James J. Corbett was born on September 1, 1866 in San Francisco, California. He won the World Heavyweight Title from John L. Sullivan on September 7, 1892. He retired after losing to Jim Jeffries on August 14, 1903 with a final record of 11-4-2 with 2 no contests and 7 KO's. Presented here is an antique panel card photograph of James J. Corbett.
This is an antique panel card photograph of James J. Corbett in period dress as he looked in 1893 around the time he won the title from John L. Sullivan. Photograph by W.M.Morrison of Chicago. 7 1/2" x 12." The photograph is crisp and sharp. Slight corner rounding and edge wear to the mount. There is some chipping to the mount in the lower left,upper rightand upper left corners. The autograph in the lower left area is a facsimile.One of the finer photographs of James J.
