DEMPSEY, JACK ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO

Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Presented here is an original wirephoto of Jack Dempsey on a tour of Coast Guard installations in the Pacific in 1945. It is an International News Photo.
This original wirephoto of Jack Dempsey is 6 1/2" x 8 1/2." The corners are soft and there are several small creases along the edges. There are 2 small rips along the left edge.
