HISTORY: On July 7, 1952 at Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia world welterweight champion Kid Gavilan fought Gil Turner with his title on the line. Gavilan stopped Turner in the 11th round to disappoint his hometown crowd. Fight was stopped with Turner helpless on the ropes. The scoring in rounds at the time of stoppage: 5-5 (twice), and 6-4 for Gavilan. The attendance was more than 39,000 with a gate of $269,667, a new record for a welterweight title fight. Offered here is an original, full, unused ticket for this event. Ticket was for the President's Box of Cuba. Authenticated by PSA/DNA and graded EX 5.
