Georges Carpentier fought Jack Dempsey for the Heavyweight Title on July 2,1921 in front of over 80,000 people at Boyle's Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey. Dempsey won the fight by stopping the smaller Carpentier in the 4th round. This was the first million dollar gate in boxing history. Offered here is a rare, original booklet put out in 1921 by West Side Photographic Laboratories depicting the official photograph of the arena for the fight.
This is a rare, original booklet with a fold out photograph of the arena for the fight. Clean inside and out. Has some edge tears which have clear tape repairs inside. Some separation at binding, but intact. The photo is a paper photo which folds out to 5" x 19."Some edge chips on back cover. Booklet is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2." We have never seen this before. Nice souvenir associated with this fight.
