Billy Conn was born on October 8, 1917 in East Liberty, Pennsylvania. He won the World Light Heavyweight Title in a bout with Melio Bettina on July 13, 1939. He fought Joe Louis twice for the World Heavyweight Title but was not victorious. He retired after fight Joe Louis in an exhibition match on December 10, 1948 with a final record of 63-12-1 with 14 KO's. Presented here is a signed photographic broadside of Billy Conn for an exhibition during World War II.
Billy Conn has boldly signed this 6 1/2" x 10" photographic broadside in black marker. There is a stamp on the back of the broadside that reads "Official Photograph U.S. Army Air Forces." The photo was reproduced by the maintenance division. There are small tears in the corners of the photo and in the upper left side. There is some staining in the corners. Clean, bold signature.
