On September 23, 1952 World Heavyweight Champion Jersey Joe Walcott defended his title against Rocky Marciano at Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia. Marciano was well behind on points when he dramatically stopped Walcott in the 13th round with one of the most memorable punches thrown in the history of boxing. The era of Rocky Marciano's reign as World Heavyweight Champion had begun. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting former champion Jack Dempsey feeling the muscle of Marciano at Marciano's training camp on September 9, 1952.
