SCHMELING, MAX & HIS MANAGER JOE JACOBS WIRE PHOTO (1937)

Offered here is an original wire photo dated March 3, 1937 in New York depicting Joe Jacobs, manager of Max Schmeling, giving Schmeling advice. The circumstances were that Schmeling had come from Germany to New York to try to compel world heavyweight champion Jimmy Braddock to fight him instead of Joe Louis. His effort would ultimately fail.
