CARPENTIER, GEORGES-BOMBARDIER BILLY WELLS SOUVENIR POSTCARD (1913)

On June 1, 1913 at the Feestpaleis in Ghent, Belgium Georges Carpentier and Bombardier Billy Wells fought for the European Heavyweight title. Carpentier prevailed, knocking Wells out in the 4th round. Offered here is a beautiful, souvenir postcard which advertised this event.
This is an original, unused, souvenir postcard which pictures both fighters and advertises the event. Bold color and print. Bold, clear images. Not creased or torn. Corner wear. Minor soiling and a pencil notation on reverse. Rare, the first we have seen. 3 1/2" x 5 1/4."
