HISTORY: On December 8, 1972 at the War Memorial in Syracuse, New York former world welterweight champion Billy Backus and Hedgmon Lewis battled for the vacant NYSAC version of the world welterweight title. Lewis prevailed winning a 15 round unanimous decision and the title. Backus was knocked down in the 2nd round. Offered here is a scarce original, on site poster to this event.
