On December 15, 1978 at the Felt Forum in New York rising heavyweight star Gerry Cooney fought Grady Daniels (a replacement for Eugene Green who was initially scheduled). Cooney stopped Daniels in round 5. Also on the show future world featherweight champion Juan LaPorte won an 8 round majority decision over David Capo (a replacement for Jose Nieto who was initially scheduled).
