HISTORY: Jim Corbett fought Bob Fitzsimmons on March 17, 1897 in Carson City, Nevada. Fitzsimmons knocked Corbett out in the 14th round to win the Heavyweight Championship of the World. The fight was originally scheduled for Dallas, Texas in 1895, but was postponed. Offered here is an original Press Pass & Coupon for the fight in Carson City on March 17, 1897.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original Press Pass & Coupon. Originally made for the Dallas venue it was used for the Carson City fight. Includes a seat number. Bold color and print. Coupon has to be used with the Press Pass as stated. Glue stains on backs of both. Not creased or torn. Press Pass is on heavy cardboard stock and measures 2 1/4" in diameter. The coupon is on thinner staock and measures 1 1/4" x 2." Exceedingly rare.
