LOUIS, JOE-TONY GALENTO FIGHT RAFFLE TICKET (1939)

On June 28, 1939 World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis defended his title against Tony Galento at Yankee Stadium in New York. Galento, a hard punching rough and tumble sort, knocked Louis down early in the fight. Louis recovered and administered a ferocious beating on "Two Ton" Tony before stopping him in the fourth round. Offered here is a very rare original raffle ticket to win a fight ticket for this fight.
This is an original, paper, raffle ticket which names the fighters, date and venue. Bold color and print. Has a center crease. Clean front and back. 2 3/8" x 3 1/4."
