History: James J. Jeffries was born on April 15, 1875 in Carroll, Ohio. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 9, 1899 from Bob Fitzsimmons. He retired after losing to Jack Johnson on July 4, 1910, his only loss, with a final record of 18-1-2 with 15 KO's. Presented here is a antique photograph of Jeffries at his training camp for the Johnson fight in 1910.From the collection of the great great newphew of Jeffries.
