History: On May 12, 1923 at Yankee Stadium in New York heavyweights Luis Firpo and Jack McAuliffe II battled in the main event. Firpo knocked McAuliffe out in the third round. Offered here is a scarce wire photograph of the two posing before the fight.

Full description: This wire photo is stamped on the reverse by International Newsreel. Missing the caption. Photo has small tape attachments in the four corners which can likely be removed. Image is bold and clear. Not creased or torn. Minor cracks with no paper loss. 8" x 10."
