Name: MARCIANO, ROCKY-ARCHIE MOORE ORIGINAL CARTOON ART (BY STANLEY WESTON-1955)

History: On September 21, 1955 Rocky Marciano defended his Heavyweight Title for the last time defeating Archie Moore in Yankee Stadium. It brought his record to 49-0, a mark challenged but to this day never eclipsed. Moore didn't go easily. He knocked down the champ early, but was himself stopped in the 9th round after being worn down by the relentless attack of Marciano. Offered here is original cartoon artwork by Stanley Weston of Ring Magazine entitled HIT OR MISS in which he discusses the possibility of an upset by Archie Moore if he can land one big punch. As we now know, it was marciano who landed the telling blows.
