History: On September 5, 1921 at Boyle's Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey future bantamweight champion Johnny Buff fought Indian Russell with his "Rickard Belt" at stake. Buff dominated and knocked Russell out in the 5th round. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting the end of the fight with Buff standing over the fallen Russell as the referee counts him out.
