History: On September 28, 1906 in San Francisco lightweights Eddie Hanlon and Fighting Dick Hyland battled in the first boxing show held in San Francisco after the earthquake. Hanlon stopped Hyland in the 13th round. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph taken by the notable Dana Studios depicting the two fighters in the ring squaring off before the fight began.
