Name: LOUIS, JOE PUNCH ADVERTISING HANGER
History: Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He retired after losing to Rocky Marciano on October 26, 1951. His final record was 63-3. After World War II Louis invested in a soft drink which was called Joe Louis Punch. The project failed. Full description: This is an original, cardboard, advertising hanger. It is two sided and pictures Louis in fight pose. Advertises "Joe Louis PUNCH IT'S A KNOCKOUT!" Bold color and print. Bold, clear image. Has a small hole at top to hang it from. Not creased or torn. Edge wear. Back side and some soiling and chipping. Irregularly shaped to 7 1/2" x 10."Extremely rare, the only one we have seen or offered.
