History: Evander Holyfield fought Carlos De Leon on April 9, 1988 in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace. Holyfield knocked him out in the 8th round. This fight was a battle of the world cruiserweight champions and with the win Holyfield combined the titles. Holyfield hit DeLeon with every punch known but never knocked the courageous Puerto Rican down. Finally, after Holyfield cut loose with a fearsome 20-punch barrage in the eighth round and with DeLeon helpless on the ropes, referee Mills Lane stopped it. Offered here is the original robe worn by Evander Holyfield in this fight. The robe originated from the Evander Holyfield Auction at Julien's Auctions on November 30, 2012 and is shown on page 108 of the catalogue as Lot 225.
