History: JaKob Bartfield (B.3/15/1892-D. 10/2/1970) was a welterweight boxer who fought as Soldier Bartfield from 1911 to 1932. He amassed a record of 51-29-8. Although he never fought for the championship, he was matched against many of the best boxers of his day, including Harry Greb, Bermondsey Billy Wells, Jack Britton, Ted "Kid" Lewis, Mike Gibbons, Benny Leonard and Mickey Walker.
