History: On May 2, 1926 former Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson fought Pat Lester in the Bull Ring at Sonora, Mexico. Johnson won a 15 round decision. Offered here is a rare wire photo of Jack Johnson standing with Cyclone Cooper three weeks before the Lester fight. Cooper acted as Johnson's sparring partner for the fight.

Full description: The is an original International Newsreel wire photo of Jack Johnson in period dress and Cyclone Cooper in baseball uniform shaking hands. The photo is dated April 12, 1926. The caption is on the reverse and is stamped. The photograph is 6" x 8" and in fine condition with no rips, tears or creases. Terrific image and exceptionally rare.
