HISTORY: On September 29, 1977 at New York's Madison Square Garden, Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali defended his title against tough challenger Earnie Shavers. Ali won a close 15 round decision. Ali was wobbled in the 2nd and 14th rounds, but had enough to survive. The fight was a huge financial success. The Garden was sold out and NBC which televised it live had incredible ratings, a tribute to Ali's drawing power. 

Offered here is a 1991 AW HALL OF FAME boxing card of Earnie Shavers which he has boldly signed. From the collection of Tom Space, an amateur fighter himself, and was eventually very involved in the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame as both a member and Historian.
