DEMPSEY, JACK-TOMMY GIBBONS RUBY GLASS PITCHER (1923)

Jack Dempsey fought Tom Gibbons on July 4, 1923. Dempsey won by decision after 15 rounds to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title. The fight was held in Shelby, Montana and nearly bankrupted the town. It was forever more known as the "Rape Of Shelby." Offered here is a very rare souvenir, ruby glass pitcher used to advertise this historic event.
This is a souvenir Ruby Ware pitcher with "DEMPSEY GIBBONS FIGHT SHELBY, MONT. JULY 4th, 1923" printed on it. There is some scratching but overall rates VG. Not chipped or cracked. 4 inches high. Rare, the only we have seen.
