Cassius Clay won the Olympic Gold Medal in boxing at the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics. He defeated Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964 to win the World Heavyweight Title. He would become the first man to win that title three times. Changed his name to Muhammad Ali after defeating Liston. Presented here is an original, first generation, antique photo of Cassius Clay as champion in 1964.
This first generation, antique photo of Cassius Clay is 7 1/2" x 9 1/2." There is a small crease in the center of the photo and along the right side. Clay's name had been written in pencil and then erased. Otherwise clean with no rips or tears.
