On February 25, 1964 Cassius Clay fought Sonny Liston for the World Heavyweight Title. Clay won the title from Liston after Liston retired in the 7th round citing an injured shoulder. After this fight Clay changed his name to Muhammad X and then Muhammad Ali. It was the Ring Magazine 1964 Fight of the Year. Offered here is an original New York Post newspaper dated February 26, 1964 with complete fight coverage including Liston's claim that his shoulder was hurt going into the fight.
