Lou Ambers was born on November 8, 1913 in Herkimer, New York. He won the World Lightweight Title from Tony Canzoneri on September 3, 1936. In his career he fought many important fighters of the day including: Honey Mellody, Johnny Jadick, Fritzie Zivic, Henry Armstrong, Jimmy McLarnin and Pedro Montanez. He retired after losing to Lew Jenkins on February 28, 1941 with a final record of 86-8-6 with 27 KO's. Offered here is a colorized, large format photograph of Lou Ambers.
This is a large format, colorized photo which dates to the 1940's. Printed on board. No creases or tears. Bold color and sharp image. Several minor stains. Some small surface scratches. 20" x 30."
