HISTORY: Max Baer was born on February 11, 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his professional boxing career on May 16, 1929. He stopped Primo Carnera in 11 rounds on June 14, 1934 in Long Island City to win the Heavyweight Title. He lost it to James J. Braddock on June 13, 1935. He posted a career record of 70-13. In addition to Carnera he had victories over Max Schmeling, Tommy Farr, Tom Heeney and King Levinsky. Presented here is a vintage signed photo of Max Baer.

FULL DESCRIPTION: Max Baer has boldly signed this 8" x 10" photo in black ink. He has inscribed the photo, "To my pal Alan Ward- a great News Paper writer- May we always be pals- Sincerely Max Baer 4/2/34." There are small creases in the corners and along the edges. There is a small rip in the center of the top edge. Clean signature.
