HISTORY: On March 10, 1924 at Madison Square Garden in New York a boxing exhibition of world champions was held at the direction of the Mayor's Committee on Receptions to Distinguished Guests through the courtesy of Tex Rickard. The extraordinary list of fighters appearing included: Jack Dempsey, Johnny Dundee, Joe Lynch, Gene Tunney, Mike McTigue, Mickey Walker, Frankie Genaro, Pancho Villa, Harry Wills and Paul Berlenbach.
Offered here are two on site, full unused tickets for this event along with the one page program.
FULL DESCRIPTION: These are two, on site, full, unused tickets which name the event, date and venue and include a section, row and seat number. Paper on back from being mounted in an album. Stubs firmly attached. Bold color and print. Some toning. Not creased or torn. Minor edge wear, 2 1/2" x 5." Also includes a one page, blank backed program which lists the event, date and time. Some light staining. Currently glued to board, but could be removed. Clipped lower left corner not affecting the text. Mild creasing. 6" x 9."
Exceedingly rare, the only example I have seen.
