HISTORY: Tommy Burns was born on June 17, 1881 in Chesley, Ontario, Canada. He defeated Marvin Hart on February 23, 1906 to win the World Heavyweight Title. He eventually lost the title to Jack Johnson on December 26, 1908. He retired after losing to Joe Beckett on July 16, 1920 with a final record of 46-5-9 with 37 KO's. Offered here is a cabinet card display of three cabinets cards picturing Tommy Burns in period dress and in training poses.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original cabinet card display of three cabinet cards. All three are by photographer Rheinhold Thiele. One pictures Burns in period dress and two picture Burns in various training poses. Not creased or torn. Clean. Bold, clear images. 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" each. There is wear to the wooden frame. Framed to 12 1/2" x 22 1/2."
