HISTORY: Patrick Sexton Carden a/k/a Patsy Cardiff a/k/a The Peoria Giant was born in 1863 in Gratton, Ontario, Canada. He fought as a heavyweight between 1884 and 1892. Cardiff had victories over Danny Kelliher, John Donalson and Jim Fell and fought draws with John L. Sullivan and Charlie Mitchell. Offered here is a very rare, original cabinet card of Patsy Cardiff in period dress as he looked at the height of his career.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original Oswald Bros. of Minneapolis cabinet card dating to the late 1880's. Bold, clear image. Not creased or torn. Tack holes at top and lower borders. Glue stain on back from mounting. Front is clean. Edge and corner wear. 4 1/4" x 6 1/2." Rare, the first we have offered.
