Georges Carpentier (January 12, 1894 – October 28, 1975) was a French boxer. He fought mainly as a light heavyweight and heavyweight in a career lasting from 1908-26. Nicknamed the "Orchid Man", he stood 5 ft 11½ in (1.82 m) but his fighting weight ranged from 125 to 175 lb (57 to 79 kg). Carpentier was known for his speed, his excellent boxing skills and his extremely hard punch.Presented here is an antique wirephoto of Carpentier with Wells and Wilde in 1919.
this is an original antique wirephoto of Carpentier.The photo measures 6 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches.The photo shows heavy wear on the corners and edges.There is a tear on the top left hand side along with a crease that runs the vertical length of the photo.The back has the attached wire info dated 1919.The images are good.
