HISTORY: On May 25, 1951 at Madison Square Garden in New York lightweight champion Ike Williams defended hsi title against Jimmy Carter. Williams was down in the 5th round twice, once in the 10th, and once in 14th round. Referee Petey Scalzo stopped the bout as Williams arose unsteadily in the 14th. Jimmy Carter had won the lightweight title. Offered here is an original action wire photograph depicting the ending of the fight.
