On July 12, 1980 at Resorts International Casino in Atlantic City future world bantamweight champion Jeff Chandler fought Gilberto Villacana in the co featured event. Chandler stopped Villacana in the 4th round. In the other co feature former world light heavyweight champion Mike Rossman won a unanimous ten round decision over Don Addison.
