HISTORY: On April 7, 1978 at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago the Chicago-New York City Intercity Amateur Championships were held. Future world champion Billy Costello won a decision over Paul Williams at 133 lbs. Future world champion Davey Moore won a decision over Steve Williams at 147 lbs. In a heavyweight bout Edward Gregg stopped Renaldo Snipes in the first round.
