HISTORY: Jim Corbett fought Bob Fitzsimmons on March 17, 1897 in Carson City, Nevada. Fitzsimmons knocked Corbett out in the 14th round to win the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Presented here is an original, souvenir, plaster relief which was made for this event. Includes the original box.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, souvenir plaster relief with original box. Depicts both fighters squaring off with the promoter Dan Stuart looking on above. Names of both fighters and the artist are etched into the side panels. In fine condition. No chipping. Clean front and back. An amazing souvenir from a fight in 1897. In the shape of an octagon. Irregularly shaped to 5" x 5 1/2." The box shows considerable wear, but not the raised relief itself.
