On Feburary 13,1999 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas world welterweight champion Oscae De La Hoya met Ike Quartey for the Welterweight title. De La Hoya won a close 12 round split decision. De La Hoya was down in the 6th round. Quartey was down in the 6th and 12th rounds. The Associated Press scored 116-111 for De La Hoya. Unofficial HBO (Harold Lederman) scorecard: 114-113 for Quartey.
