On September 23, 1926 at Sesquicentennial Stadium in Philadelphia in front of a crowd of 120,557 Jack Dempsey defended his heavyweight tile against Gene Tunney. Tunney, the better boxer, avoided the powerful blows of Dempsey and won a unanimous ten round decision and the title. Offered here is a very rare Official's pin issued for this fight.
This is an original, metallic Official's pin for this fight which names the fighters, date and venue. Bold color and print. Pin firmly attached to back. No dents. Some age foxing on front. Mild rusting on reverse. 2 1/4" diameter. Rare, the only example we have seen.
