Georges Carpentier fought Jack Dempsey for the Heavyweight Title on July 2,1921 in front of over 80,000 people at Boyle's Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey. Dempsey won the fight by stopping the smaller Carpentier in the 4th round. This was the first million dollar gate in boxing history. Offered here is an original, first generation, large format mounted photograph depicting the two exchanging blows at center ring.
This is an original, first generation, large format, mounted photograph. Image is bold and clear. No creases or tears. Has some surface wear and light soiling and staining. Mount has edge and corner wear. 16" x 20 1/2" photo on a mount of 20" x 24." Extremely rare, especially in this size.
