Jack Dempsey fought Tom Gibbons on July 4, 1923. Dempsey won by decision after 15 rounds to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title. The fight was held in Shelby, Montana and nearly bankrupted the town. It was forever more known as the "Rape Of Shelby." Offered here is a very rare advertising poster, which includes a mailing portion, used to solicit people to attend the evnt. It includes information on the evnt, venue, fighters and a seating chart for the arena.
This is an original pre fight, two sided, paper poster. Bold, clear images and print. Clean on both sides. Includes the original folds. Minor edge wear and corner wear. Minor tear at center fold with no paper loss. 14 1/2" x 24."
