HISTORY: Robert Fitzsimmons was born on May 26, 1863 in Helston, Cornwall, England. He won the World Middleweight Title on January 14, 1891 from Jack Dempsey. On March 17, 1897 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James Corbett. He later won the World Light Heavyweight Title on November 25, 1903 from George Gardner. He retired after fighting Jersey Bellew on February 20, 1914 with a final record of 43-12 with 6 no decisions, 1 no contest, and 32 KO's. Offered here is an original cabinet card of Robert Fitzsimmons in full fight pose dated 1891 when he was World Middleweight Champion.

The name Robert Fitzsimmons is written in ink at lower mount, but it is not his signature. Mild corner wear. 4 1/4" x 6 1/2." Professionally framed. A rare cabinet card from early in the career of Robert Fitzsimmons.
